Hans Bergström floor lamp
This rare height-adjustable floor lamp was designed by Hans Bergström and produced by ASEA in Sweden during the 1950s. The lamp is constructed entirely from brass, featuring a conical lampshade with a distinctive perforated edge that allows light to subtly escape through the top, adding a delicate decorative detail. Its height can be adjusted via a central brass screw mechanism, enhancing functionality without compromising the lamp’s refined aesthetic.
An opaline glass diffuser softens the emitted light, creating a warm and inviting glow typical of Scandinavian modern lighting design. The brass surface has developed a natural patina over time, contributing to the lamp’s vintage character and visual depth.
The lamp measures 38 centimeters in diameter (15 inches), with an adjustable height ranging from 131 to 156 centimeters (51.5 to 61.5 inches), making it a versatile and elegant addition to a variety of interior settings.
