Josef Frank floor lamps
This rare pair of height-adjustable floor lamps, model G2326, was designed by Josef Frank and produced by Svenskt Tenn in Sweden during the 1950s. They embody Frank’s refined Scandinavian modernist style, balancing practical functionality with decorative elegance. Crafted from brass, the slender stems are adjustable in height and rest on curved tripod bases that provide both stability and a sense of lightness.
Each lamp is fitted with its original pleated fabric shade, which softly diffuses light for ambient or focused illumination. The brass components have developed a warm patina over time, adding to their vintage charm. The height adjustment mechanism offers versatility, allowing the lamps to serve various lighting needs from general ambiance to reading tasks. The overall proportions and fine brass detailing reflect Frank’s subtle sophistication and timeless design ethos.
Josef Frank was a pivotal figure in Scandinavian design, known for his humanistic modernism that combined classical elements with organic forms. His work for Svenskt Tenn remains highly prized for its enduring style and quality.
The lamps are in good vintage condition, showing wear consistent with age and use. Each lamp measures 40 cm in diameter, with an adjustable height ranging from 125 cm to 180 cm (15.7 inches x 49.2–70.9 inches).
