Information

A rare and beautifully crafted set of nesting tables designed by Aksel Kjersgaard and produced by Odder in Denmark during the 1960s. This elegant trio exemplifies the refined minimalism and superior material quality that define Danish mid-century design.

Made in richly grained rosewood, the tables feature a perfectly balanced geometric structure, each piece designed to nest seamlessly beneath the next. The craftsmanship is exceptional, with precise joinery and a deep, lustrous finish that highlights the natural character of the wood. The smallest table doubles as a functional chessboard, inlaid with contrasting woods to form a striking graphic surface — a subtle yet playful detail that reflects Kjersgaard’s sensitivity to both function and form.

The composition of the set allows for versatile use — as individual side tables, a unified coffee table, or as sculptural accents within a room. Their light, open construction lends a sense of spatial clarity, typical of Scandinavian design, while the rosewood’s warm tone provides visual depth and sophistication.

Fully restored and in good vintage condition, the tables retain minor signs of age consistent with careful use. This set represents a refined example of Kjersgaard’s work and a timeless embodiment of Danish modern craftsmanship.

Dimensions are 95 cm wide, 47.5 cm deep, and 48 cm high (37.4 x 18.7 x 18.9 in)
