Jørgen Lund

Jørgen Lund was a Danish furniture designer associated with Scandinavian modern design during the 1960s. He is primarily known for his collaboration with Ole Larsen, with whom he designed seating furniture and desks for the Danish manufacturer Bo-Ex. Their work reflects the refined yet experimental character of Danish modernism in the postwar period, combining organic forms, functional construction, and high-quality materials such as leather, steel, and wood.

Relatively little biographical information has been widely published about Jørgen Lund, and available sources mainly document his work through surviving furniture and vintage market references. He is most frequently mentioned in connection with Ole Larsen, with whom he designed a number of pieces for Bo-Ex in Denmark during the 1960s. These include office chairs, lounge chairs, sofas, and desks.

Among their best-known works is the office chair model 932, designed by Jørgen Lund and Ole Larsen and produced by Bo-Ex around 1965. The chair is characterized by an organically curved upholstered shell, a swivel base, and a refined balance between comfort and sculptural form. Its combination of leather and metal reflects the period’s interest in modern workplace furniture that was both practical and visually distinctive.

Lund and Larsen also designed other models for Bo-Ex, including the BO-911 lounge chairs and sofas, as well as desk designs.
