Information

This rare pair of easy chairs, model Jupiter, designed by Finn Juhl and produced by France & Daverkosen in Denmark in 1960, exemplifies Juhl’s organic modernism with sculptural form and exceptional craftsmanship.

The solid rosewood frames showcase warm, rich grain and feature slightly angled rear legs that flow into backrest supports, creating a dynamic yet balanced silhouette. Gently curved armrests complement the ergonomic seat design. The original black leather upholstery is intact with an age-appropriate patina, while the generously padded cushions offer comfort without sacrificing structure. The chairs’ outer shells are also leather-covered, unifying the design.

Finn Juhl, a key figure in Danish mid-century design, was known for combining functionality and artistry. The Jupiter model, produced by France & Daverkosen, is a rare example of his work, embodying refined strength and elegance.

The chairs remain in original condition with minor leather wear and well-preserved rosewood frames, maintaining both aesthetic and structural integrity.

Dimensions: 83.5 cm width, 80 cm depth, 78 cm height (32.9 x 31.5 x 30.7 inches), seat height 43 cm (16.9 inches).
