- Wegner often worked with types that he would rework through a number variants over the course of several years. The “Buck” chair was a type he devoted himself to especially in the 1950s. From the commercially succesful “sawbuck” chair he would evolve the “Buck” motif in several rare models for cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen until 1959 when he reaches this variant with a very reduced construction, but also incredibly rare. The model was presented in 1959 at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers´ Guild´s Exhibtion. The chair is both visually light and with a powerful expression. The curved armrests with its visible joints, the oak frame and the beautiful cane in the seat and back gives the chair a natural look. Craftsmanship at its best.
