Floor lamp

This Swedish mid-century floor lamp, produced in the 1960s by Falkenbergs Belysning, is a striking example of Scandinavian lighting design. While the designer of this particular model remains unknown, the lamp showcases high-quality craftsmanship and the use of noble materials, consistent with Falkenbergs Belysning’s reputation.

The lamp features a dual-light configuration with two independently adjustable arms, each terminating in a pleated conical shade made from off-white fabric. The upper structure is composed of solid brass, including gooseneck-style arms that allow for flexible positioning of the light sources. The shades provide a soft, diffused illumination, and the arms can be oriented individually to direct light for reading or accent lighting, offering both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

The central stem of the lamp is crafted from rosewood, shaped with a subtly segmented profile reminiscent of bamboo. Lathe-turned ring details enhance the vertical form, adding rhythm to the design. The rich grain pattern and deep brown hues of the rosewood contrast beautifully with the warm tone of the brass components. The lamp’s circular base is also made of rosewood and is elevated on small rounded feet, designed to provide visual stability without adding significant weight.

The lamp is in very good condition, with minor surface wear typical of age and use. The natural finish of the rosewood remains well-preserved, while the brass elements have developed a soft, aged patina that adds character to the piece. The lamp is structurally sound and electrically functional, ensuring both its visual and practical integrity.
