Floor lamp

This floor lamp is a rare and distinctive example of mid-century Scandinavian lighting design, produced in Sweden during the 1940s. The structure is composed of a patinated brass frame with three organically curving arms, each terminating in a newly fabricated shade made from a lightly textured fabric. The lamp rests on a solid, circular base of polished dark granite, supported by three discreet wooden feet.

The color palette consists primarily of the muted golden-brown tones of the aged brass, the deep, speckled gray of the granite base, and the soft, warm white of the shades. The interplay of these materials and colors lends the lamp a sophisticated, understated elegance characteristic of Scandinavian modernism. The shape of the lamp is both functional and sculptural, with the curved arms creating a dynamic yet balanced composition that distributes light evenly and decoratively.

The condition of the lamp is very good, retaining its original brass frame and granite base with signs of natural, desirable patina that attest to its age.
