Alf Svensson floor lamp

This rare height-adjustable floor lamp, model G30, designed by Alf Svensson and produced by Bergboms in Malmö during the 1950s, is a refined example of Scandinavian modern lighting design. Merging functionality with graceful form, the lamp reflects Svensson’s ability to distill structural clarity and visual lightness into elegant everyday objects.

The lamp’s base is composed of black lacquered metal, shaped into a clean and stable tripod configuration. This three-legged design offers both visual balance and reliable support, while contributing to the overall minimalist aesthetic. A key functional element of the G30 model is its telescopic, height-adjustable stem, which ranges from 110 to 155 cm (approximately 43.3 to 61 inches). At the top, the lamp features a delicately pleated fabric shade adorned with subtle floral motifs, introducing a layer of softness and decorative charm.
