Bergboms floor lamp

This rare floor lamp, model G-31, was produced by Bergboms in Sweden. The lamp features a refined combination of black lacquered wood and brass, materials often used by Bergboms to achieve both elegance and durability. The shaft is articulated into segments, with black lacquered wooden elements separated by brass connectors, giving the piece a clean vertical rhythm. The base consists of a three-pronged brass structure, offering stability while maintaining a visually light footprint. The lampshade is a newly made replacement, executed in white velvet fabric, providing a soft and evenly diffused light.

The design of this lamp reflects Bergboms’ modernist principles, where geometric clarity and material contrasts play a central role. The brass elements contribute warmth and a subtle reflective quality, balancing the matte black lacquered sections of the stem. The shade’s large cylindrical form enhances the lamp’s proportions, complementing the slender vertical structure and creating a harmonious overall silhouette.
