Information

This is a pair of Danish bronze lidded jars produced in the 1930s, exemplifying the refined decorative arts of the Art Deco period. Each jar is formed in a cylindrical shape with a finely fluted vertical relief that encircles the exterior surface. The lids are flat and circular with a subtle concentric profile, centered by a domed medallion bearing a floral motif rendered in low relief. The motif is symmetrical and radiates from the center with a stylized sunburst-like flower pattern, typical of Art Deco ornamentation.

The bronze displays a deep, naturally aged patina with tones ranging from dark olive green to warm brown, revealing localized oxidation and historical surface wear that contribute to the objects’ period character. The interior of each jar shows signs of use and age, with a mellow golden tone consistent with untreated bronze. The craftsmanship is substantial, with thick cast walls and finely detailed relief work.

Both jars are in excellent vintage condition with no structural damage or restoration. The lids fit smoothly and flush with the upper rims, and the patinated surfaces have been preserved without polishing, retaining their authentic, historical surface quality.

Each jar measures 12.5 cm in diameter and 10.5 cm in height, which corresponds to approximately 4.9 inches in diameter and 4.1 inches in height.
