Information

This is a rare set of nesting tables, model Sled, designed by Carl Malmsten and produced by Åfors Möbelfabriks AB in Sweden. Executed in mahogany, the set consists of a larger table with two smaller nesting tables that slide underneath, each constructed with slatted lower shelves. The design reflects Malmsten’s characteristic blend of functional simplicity and refined craftsmanship, balancing geometric rigor with a sense of lightness.

The tables feature sled-style bases with slightly upturned ends, providing both visual grounding and a structural detail typical of Malmsten’s careful attention to proportion. The slatted lower shelves add transparency and rhythm to the design, enhancing the architectural clarity of the piece.

The set remains in excellent condition, with a warm patina that highlights the quality of the mahogany. Dimensions of the largest table are 70 x 41,5 x 56,5 cm.
