Staff Leuchten floor lamp

This large floor lamp was produced by Staff Leuchten in Germany during the 1960s. It exemplifies mid-century German lighting design with balanced proportions, utilitarian aesthetics, and a refined combination of high-quality materials and clean geometric forms.

The cylindrical lampshade is covered in a warm ochre or amber-toned fabric, likely original, which softly diffuses light to create an ambient glow. The shade is supported by a tall, slender shaft made from chrome-plated brass, providing a cool metallic contrast to the warmth of the fabric. The lamp’s structure is visually grounded by a distinctive black lacquered metal tripod base with slightly flared legs that ensure stability while reinforcing the minimalist design language. Leveling metal feet on the base maintain even floor contact across different surfaces.

Functionally, the lamp is equipped with dual pull chains positioned just below the shade, allowing independent operation of two bulbs. This mechanism is characteristic of 1960s lighting technology.
