Rare oil / kerosene lamp model L-101, also known as “Claus” designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and produced by Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB in Markaryd, Sweden. Originally conceived as a modern interpretation of the traditional hurricane lamp, the design exemplifies Jakobsson’s distinctive ability to combine functional lighting with refined Scandinavian aesthetics. Today, the model is regarded as one of his most recognizable portable lighting designs and remains highly sought after among collectors of Scandinavian mid-century design.

The lamp features a solid brass base with a beautifully aged surface that has developed a rich natural patina over decades of use. Above sits a large hand-blown amber-tinted glass shade whose soft, rounded silhouette gives the piece a sculptural presence. The warm honey-colored glass diffuses and enriches the light, creating an atmospheric glow characteristic of Jakobsson’s lighting designs. A clear glass chimney rises through the centre, framing the burner and emphasizing the lamp’s elegant proportions.
