Josef Frank table lamp
This rare table lamp, model 2467, was designed by Josef Frank and produced by Svenskt Tenn in Sweden during the 1950s. The lamp features a solid brass structure with a slender central stem that extends into a tripod-style base, supported by three rounded feet. The polished brass surface subtly reflects light while maintaining a warm golden tone. The base is designed with minimal yet functional elegance, ensuring stability and complementing the lamp’s refined proportions.
The lamp retains its original off-white conical fabric lampshade, secured by a brass finial integrated seamlessly into the design. The shade diffuses light softly, enhancing the warm tones of the brass and creating an inviting ambient glow.
Josef Frank was a pivotal figure in Scandinavian modern design, known for his work at Svenskt Tenn where he brought a softer, more organic sensibility to modernism. His designs often fused classical elements with light, modern aesthetics. The model 2467 lamp exemplifies this philosophy by balancing practical function with timeless elegance.
The lamp remains in very good vintage condition, exhibiting minor age-related wear on the brass surface. The original lampshade is well-preserved, showing slight natural patina consistent with its age.
Dimensions are 41 cm in diameter and 58 cm in height (16.1 x 22.8 inches).
