Just Andersen vase
This rare bronze vase was designed and produced by Just Andersen in Denmark during the 1930s. It features a rounded, bulbous body with a tapering conical neck and two looped side handles, giving it a form reminiscent of ancient amphorae. The transition between the neck and the body is accentuated by a finely ribbed collar detail, adding a subtle decorative element to the otherwise restrained silhouette.
Just Andersen was a celebrated Danish designer and sculptor, known particularly for his work in bronze and pewter. His designs often combine classical inspiration with the clean lines and functional elegance characteristic of Scandinavian design. This piece, stamped Denmark Just A B107, is part of Andersen’s signature bronze production, which is highly regarded for its quality casting and rich surface treatments.
The vase has developed a deep, varied patina with tones of brown and green, enhancing its sculptural character and attesting to its age. It is in good condition with visible signs of use and wear that contribute to its authenticity and historical charm.
