Lisa Johansson-Pape wall lamp
This wall lamp is composed of a brass shade and a slender, curved brass arm mounted on an adjustable vertical rod. The shade has a conical form that widens toward the lower edge, and its surface shows a naturally aged patina with scattered marks and oxidation typical of mid-century brass. The arm features a soft, elongated curve that allows the shade to project into the room while remaining visually light. Small perforations on the shade create a patterned light effect when illuminated.
The lamp is designed by Lisa Johansson-Pape and was produced by Stockmann-Orno in Finland during the 1950s. Johansson-Pape was a leading figure in Finnish lighting design, known for her functional approach and her use of metal and glass in simple, refined forms. Stockmann-Orno was an important Finnish lighting manufacturer of the era, recognized for high-quality production and collaborations with prominent designers.
The style reflects Scandinavian mid-century design principles, with a focus on practicality, clarity of form, and materials that age gracefully. The brass construction gives the lamp both durability and a warm, atmospheric quality when lit, emphasized by the perforated shade.
The lamp measures 27.5 cm in diameter and 31 cm in height for the shade. The overall dimensions are 27.5 × 71 × 58 cm, corresponding to approximately 10.8 × 28 × 22.8 inches. It remains in good vintage condition with visible signs of use and patina consistent with age.
