Mårten Medbo vase

This ceramic vase, model Hairy, was designed and produced by Mårten Medbo in 2004. The piece exemplifies Medbo’s experimental approach to ceramic form, combining humor, tactility, and conceptual design. The sculptural surface, covered in protruding curved tendrils, gives the vase a dynamic and organic character, transforming it into a study of texture and movement. Executed in glossy white glaze, it balances playfulness with a refined contemporary aesthetic.

Mårten Medbo (b. 1964) is a Swedish ceramic artist known for pushing the boundaries of traditional craftsmanship through sculptural and often provocative works. His art explores the intersection between utility and expression, challenging the conventions of modern ceramic design.
