Paavo Tynell table lamp

The table lamp model 5305, designed by Paavo Tynell and produced by Taito in Finland during the 1950s, exemplifies Scandinavian modern lighting design with its functional yet refined aesthetic. The lamp features a black lacquered metal conical shade, punctuated by a series of perforations along the lower edge that facilitate a delicate diffusion of light. Paavo Tynell (1890–1973) was a pioneering Finnish designer renowned for his innovative lighting solutions. His work often incorporated brass and perforated metal, contributing significantly to the development of mid-century Scandinavian lighting design. Taito, the Finnish manufacturer co-founded in 1918 by Tynell, produced many of his celebrated designs, which are now highly collectible.

This lamp is preserved in good vintage condition, exhibiting age-appropriate wear on the brass components and the base. It measures 18.5 cm in width, 41 cm in depth, and 41.5 cm in height (7.3 by 16.1 by 16.3 inches), making it a compact yet versatile piece suitable for various interior settings.
