Information

This pair of brass candlesticks, designed by Pierre Forssell and produced by Skultuna in Sweden during the 1950s, exemplifies mid-century Scandinavian modern design through its minimalist and precise geometric form. Each candlestick features a tall, slender brass stem that connects a cylindrical base to a sculptural candle holder distinguished by an asymmetrical cutout detail. The polished brass surface imparts a refined, reflective quality that enhances the sculptural presence of the pieces.

Forssell’s design language is marked by clean lines and functional elegance, qualities that are clearly expressed in this pair. The candlesticks reflect the craftsmanship and artistic expression characteristic of Skultuna, a company established in 1607, known for its enduring tradition of high-quality brasswork that seamlessly blends utility with aesthetic sophistication.

Each candlestick measures 4 cm in diameter and 20.5 cm in height (1.6 x 8.1 inches), presenting a slender and elegant form that is both decorative and practical within the Scandinavian modern design canon.
