Severin Hansen bedside tables
This rare pair of freestanding bedside or side tables, designed by Severin Hansen and produced by Haslev Møbelsnedkeri in Denmark during the 1950s, showcases the refined craftsmanship and minimalist elegance typical of mid-century Scandinavian design. Crafted from rosewood, the tables display a deep, rich grain with a polished surface that accentuates the natural variations and textures of the wood.
The design is defined by clean geometric lines and precise joinery, with Hansen’s signature mitered corners providing a seamless transition between the tapered legs and the tabletop. These tapered legs contribute to the tables’ light and elegant silhouette. Each table includes a single drawer featuring a subtly integrated front, maintaining a streamlined appearance while offering practical storage. Below the tabletop, an additional open shelf adds functional versatility, making the tables suitable for use as bedside or occasional tables.
Severin Hansen was a Danish designer recognized for his disciplined, refined approach to form and his mastery of fine cabinetry.
