Severin Hansen desk
This rare freestanding desk was designed by Severin Hansen and produced by Haslev Møbelsnedkeri in Denmark during the 1950s. Crafted from teak, the desk showcases a warm, reddish-brown tone with a fine, even grain. Its clean-lined silhouette is accentuated by Hansen’s signature mitered joints, where the legs and tabletop meet at precise angles, highlighting sharp geometric detailing characteristic of his work.
The design incorporates four front drawers seamlessly integrated into the frame, each fitted with a keyhole lock. These provide practical storage while preserving the desk’s minimalist aesthetic. The tapered legs enhance the overall lightness of the form, reflecting the Scandinavian modernism principles that emphasize functionality combined with refined craftsmanship.
