Svante Skogh nesting tables
This elegant set of nesting tables was designed by Swedish designer Svante Skogh and produced by Seffle Möbelfabrik in Sweden during the 1950s. Crafted in rosewood and dark-stained beech, the tables feature a warm tone with a rich, contrasting grain structure typical of Scandinavian mid-century furniture. The design emphasizes simplicity, functionality, and fine craftsmanship, with slender tapered legs and precisely joined edges that give the set a refined and balanced silhouette.
Svante Skogh (1929–1998) was a key figure in Swedish modern furniture design, known for his architectural precision and for creating pieces that combined rational construction with elegant proportions. His work often reflected the core principles of Scandinavian design — minimalism, natural materials, and attention to human scale — while integrating subtle modernist influences.
Produced by Seffle Möbelfabrik, a Swedish manufacturer recognized for its high-quality woodwork and collaborations with leading designers of the time, this nesting table set exemplifies the functional and aesthetic ideals of postwar Nordic design. The tables have been completely restored and remain in excellent vintage condition with only minor signs of use, preserving the depth and character of the original finish.
