Svend Aage Holm Sørensen floor lamp

This rare height-adjustable floor lamp was designed by Svend Aage Holm Sørensen and produced by Holm Sørensen & Co in Denmark during the mid-20th century. The lamp is constructed from a combination of oak, brass, lacquered iron, and retains its original lamp shade, representing the essential values of mid-century Scandinavian design.

The structure features a vertical oak element with a serrated profile, allowing the brass stem to be adjusted in height. The oak presents a natural, warm tone with visible grain, contrasting harmoniously with the aged patinated brass tube. The base is formed from two intersecting lacquered iron beams, finished in black, giving the lamp a stable and visually light foundation. The lamp is topped with its original conical shade in a vibrant blue fabric, adding a subtle accent of color. A pull chain switch with a small wooden handle is attached to the brass shaft for practical control.
