Tove & Edvard Kindt-Larsen easy chair
This is the rare “Glimminge” easy chair, designed by Tove and Edvard Kindt-Larsen and produced by OPE Möbler in Sweden during the 1960s. The chair combines a solid oak frame with the original checked wool upholstery in tones of olive green and black, complemented by a cylindrical headrest held in place with black leather straps. The structure displays a characteristic balance of geometric precision and organic softness, typical of the Kindt-Larsens’ mid-century Scandinavian approach.
The Glimminge model is defined by its architectural stance and slightly reclined profile, providing both comfort and a sculptural presence. The oak frame features angled legs and an open stretcher detail that enhances its visual lightness while maintaining structural strength. The upholstery, with its button-tufted backrest and integrated armrests, adds texture and warmth to the design, while the headrest provides ergonomic support.
This example remains in good vintage condition with visible signs of use. The upholstery shows slight wear consistent with age, and there is dryness in the padding of the backrest, but the chair retains its original form and integrity.
Dimensions are 85 cm wide, 85 cm deep, and 96.5 cm high, with a seat height of 43 cm (33.5 x 33.5 x 38 in, seat height 16.9 in).
