Uno Kristiansson floor lamps
A rare pair of floor lamps designed by Uno Kristiansson and produced by Luxus in Vittsjö, Sweden, during the 1960s. The model reflects Kristiansson’s characteristic combination of refined materials and restrained modernist proportions, developed during a period when Luxus was at the forefront of Scandinavian lighting design.
Each lamp is constructed with a slender vertical stem in rosewood, showing a rich grain pattern and warm tonal variation. The stems are mounted on circular steel bases with a satin-finished surface that provides visual balance and structural stability. The lamps are fitted with cylindrical black leather shades, whose matte surface contrasts subtly with the polished wood and metal elements. Inside, an acrylic diffuser softens the light output, creating a warm and even illumination directed both downward and outward.
The pair remains in good vintage condition, with small signs of usage consistent with age. These include minor surface marks to the bases and light wear to the leather shades, all of which contribute to an authentic patina without affecting functionality or structural integrity.
Dimensions: diameter 46 cm (18.1 inches), height 153 cm (60.2 inches).
