Vicke Lindstrand vase

This glass vase was designed by Vicke Lindstrand and produced by Kosta Glasbruk in Sweden during the 1960s. Lindstrand, a pioneer of Swedish glass design, is celebrated for his innovative use of form and color, especially through the Sommerso technique, which is clearly demonstrated in this piece.

The vase features a deep blue core encased within a thick layer of clear glass. Its organic, almost teardrop-shaped form gives it a sculptural presence, functioning as both an art object and a practical vessel. The smooth, curved surface interacts elegantly with light, enhancing the depth of the blue core and producing a luminous effect.

Signed “LH 1825 Kosta” this piece confirms its authenticity as a creation from Kosta Glasbruk, one of Sweden’s most esteemed glass manufacturers. The vase measures 12.5 centimeters in width, 6 centimeters in depth, and 15.5 centimeters in height (4.9 x 2.4 x 6.1 inches).
