Information

Glass vase titled Autumn, designed by Vicke Lindstrand and produced by Kosta in Sweden during the 1950s. The vase is executed in clear glass with internal decoration depicting stylized tree forms and scattered autumnal leaves in shades of amber, green, and brown, rendered through the graal technique. Signed Kosta LU 2011 on the base.

The thick-walled form encapsulates the motif within the glass, creating a sense of depth and dimensionality as light refracts through the surface. The use of abstracted natural imagery is characteristic of Lindstrand’s mid-century work, reflecting his interest in organic themes and his mastery of complex glass techniques developed at Kosta.

The vase displays a smooth, polished exterior with subtle curvature emphasizing its sculptural quality. The interplay between the dark linear trunks and the suspended colored fragments gives the impression of a forest scene frozen in time, a hallmark of Lindstrand’s lyrical approach to Swedish art glass.

Good vintage condition with minor surface wear consistent with age and use.

Dimensions: width 14 cm (5.5 in), depth 9 cm (3.5 in), height 23 cm (9.1 in).
