Pierre Forssell wall candlesticks

These wall-mounted candlesticks, designed by Pierre Forssell and produced by Skultuna in Sweden during the 1950s, are an excellent example of Scandinavian modernist design, with a clear focus on simplicity and function. The candlesticks are crafted from brass, a material that has developed a natural patina over time, adding both depth and character to the surface. Pierre Forssell (1925–2004) was a Swedish designer and silversmith renowned for his work with Skultuna. Forssell’s designs for Skultuna align closely with the Scandinavian modern design philosophy of the mid-20th century, emphasizing practicality, beauty, and simplicity. Founded in 1607, Skultuna is one of Sweden’s oldest and most distinguished metal manufacturers. The company became recognized for combining modern aesthetics with traditional craftsmanship, a legacy reflected in Forssell’s designs, including this candlestick.
