Information

This rare pair of bar stools was designed by Matteo Grassi and produced in Italy during the 1970s. Crafted entirely from high-quality saddle leather, the stools feature a seamless, stitched construction that showcases the precision and craftsmanship typical of Italian furniture design. The angular frame is complemented by a black metal footrest, providing both structural stability and a contrasting material element.

The stools are in good vintage condition, displaying a rich patina on the leather that enhances their character and authenticity. The natural aging process has developed a warm tone and soft, lived-in texture, adding to the uniqueness of each piece.

Matteo Grassi was renowned for his innovative use of leather in furniture, often incorporating traditional saddle-making techniques into modern seating designs. His work is celebrated for its blend of durability, elegance, and minimalist sophistication, reflecting the Italian mid-century aesthetic.

These stools exemplify mid-century Italian design, where premium materials and artisanal craftsmanship merge to create functional yet sculptural forms. The combination of refined leatherwork and clean geometric lines makes them a timeless addition to both vintage and contemporary interiors.

Each stool measures 39 centimeters in width, 44 centimeters in depth, and 97 centimeters in height (15.4 x 17.3 x 38.2 inches), with a seat height of 74 centimeters (29.1 inches).
