The Bastiano sofa, designed by Italian designer Tobia Scarpa in 1962 and produced by Haimi in Finland, is a distinguished example of mid-century modern furniture that combines structural simplicity with the use of premium materials. This model features a solid rosewood frame paired with its original black leather upholstery, embodying Scarpa’s characteristic blend of craftsmanship and industrial precision.

The frame is defined by clean lines and meticulous joinery, showcasing Scarpa’s philosophy of marrying traditional techniques with modern production methods. The sofa measures 215 cm in width, 78 cm in depth, and 66 cm in height (84.6 by 30.7 by 26 inches), with a seat height of 37 cm (14.6 inches), making it a refined and timeless piece of mid-century modern design.
