Information

This is a floor lamp produced by Eskilstuna Elektrofabrik (EAE) in Sweden during the 1950s. The lamp features a minimalistic and architectural composition, constructed from black lacquered metal with contrasting brass accents. The vertical stem is a slim cylindrical rod, terminating in a structural three-legged tripod base. Each leg extends outward in a flat, horizontal configuration, tipped with brass details and connected at the center with a machined brass hub that integrates the electrical fitting. The brass junction component is precision-stamped with the manufacturer’s name, “E.TUNA ELEKTROFABRIK” denoting authenticity and origin.

The lampshade is shown here in a neutral-toned textile, lightly tapered in profile with a cylindrical form. It provides a warm and diffused glow, especially evident in illuminated conditions, where the fabric’s weave structure becomes subtly visible and casts soft radial reflections onto surrounding surfaces. The lighting character is atmospheric and subdued, with upward and downward light diffusion.

The condition is good for its age, with evident signs of wear and patina throughout the black lacquered metal, as well as oxidation and natural discoloration on the brass elements. These signs are consistent with regular use and age, and they reinforce the lamp’s vintage character and period authenticity.

Eskilstuna Elektrofabrik was a Swedish electrical and lighting manufacturer active during the mid-20th century, known for producing practical, well-crafted lighting objects.

The lamp stands 135 cm in height and has a footprint diameter of 24 cm, which corresponds to approximately 53.1 inches tall and 9.4 inches in diameter.
