Hans-Agne Jakobsson ceiling lamps
This is a very rare pair of ceiling lamps, model T-547, designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and produced by Ellysett AB in Markaryd, Sweden, in 1965. The lamps are crafted entirely from pine, employing Jakobsson’s signature use of natural materials to diffuse light softly and create a warm, atmospheric glow.
The design consists of concentric pine rings forming a stepped, dome-like shade that conceals the light source and directs illumination downward while allowing soft, indirect light to escape between the slats. The result is a sculptural yet functional form that exemplifies mid-century Scandinavian design’s focus on harmony, material honesty, and human-centered lighting.
The lamps are in good vintage condition, showing minor signs of wear consistent with age and careful use. The pine has developed a warm tone over time, further enhancing the natural beauty of the pieces.
Hans-Agne Jakobsson (1919–2009) was one of Sweden’s most influential lighting designers, known for his ability to manipulate light through form and material. His work for Ellysett and his own company in Markaryd remains highly sought after for its unique balance of modernist principles and organic warmth.
