Svend Aage Holm Sørensen floor lamp

A very rare and sculpturally refined floor lamp designed by Svend Aage Holm Sørensen, produced by Holm Sørensen & Co in Denmark during the 1950s. This piece exemplifies the designer’s signature approach to lighting: an expressive balance between bold geometry, tactile materials and a distinctly Scandinavian sense of lightness.

The lamp is composed of a slender brass frame that rises in an elegant, almost calligraphic line, culminating in a sharply angled lacquered metal shade. The offset composition creates a dynamic silhouette, where the shade appears to float, suspended above the tall, cup-shaped light holder.
