Arne Norell easy chairs
This rare set of four easy chairs, model Pilot, was designed by Arne Norell and produced by Arne Norell AB in Sweden during the 1980s. The design reflects Norell’s signature approach, combining luxurious comfort with refined craftsmanship and timeless Scandinavian aesthetics.
Each chair features a solid beech frame, stained to a dark tone that accentuates the grain and adds depth to the overall appearance. The structure is characterized by softly curved legs and a low, wide stance that contributes to a sense of relaxed stability. The organic shaping of the armrests and back creates a flowing, cohesive silhouette.
The seats and backs are upholstered in high-quality natural leather with visible grain and patination from age and use. The warm tan tone of the leather contrasts harmoniously with the darker wood base, creating an elegant and balanced composition. The leather cushions are generously padded and removable, ensuring comfort and practicality while showing subtle creases and tonal variations that enhance the vintage character.
The Pilot model exemplifies Norell’s focus on both craftsmanship and comfort, bridging the gap between traditional Swedish furniture making and modern form. This set remains a fine representation of Scandinavian design from the late 20th century.
Excellent vintage condition with minor signs of use and an attractive patina on both leather and wood.
