Beck & Jung ashtray

This brass ashtray, designed by Holger Bäckström and Bo Ljungberg, was produced under the Ultima brand in Denmark for Diverse Ting AB in Malmö, Sweden. The design features a cubic form with a removable, sculptural lid that showcases an interlocking wave-like pattern, creating a geometric and tactile surface. The lid serves a dual purpose as both an ashtray and a decorative element when closed.

Holger Bäckström and Bo Ljungberg were Swedish designers recognized for their contributions to modernist and industrial design. Their work often emphasized modularity, pattern exploration, and a harmonious balance between form and function.
