Bendt Winge dining table

This rare drop-leaf dining table, model number 4, was designed by Bendt Winge and produced by Kleppes Møbelfabrikk in Norway in 1955. It is executed in rosewood, displaying a rich and expressive grain pattern with deep brown, reddish, and almost black tonal variations that are characteristic of high-quality Scandinavian rosewood from the period. The tabletop consists of a central section with two hinged drop leaves, allowing the table to shift from a compact form to a fully extended dining surface.

The construction is defined by precise joinery and a refined structural logic. The base features slender, straight legs connected by stretchers, with distinctive oval-shaped cut-outs in the vertical supports that add both visual lightness and structural interest. When folded, the drop leaves are supported by integrated swing-out legs, allowing the table to maintain stability in its extended configuration.
