Bertil Fridhagen easy chairs

This pair of easy chairs, model “Kuba” was designed by Bertil Fridhagen and produced by Bröderna Andersson in Sweden during the 1960s. The chairs feature sculptural frames crafted from solid teak, showcasing a warm reddish-brown tone typical of Scandinavian teak furniture from the mid-century period. The design is distinguished by gently curved, tapering armrests and a vertical slat open backrest, elements that contribute both to the chairs’ visual lightness and ergonomic comfort.

The cushions have been reupholstered in a dark navy or charcoal blue textile with a subtle texture, providing a pleasing contrast to the warmth of the teak. The seat and back cushions are loose and separate, designed to offer comfort while preserving the frame’s clean and formal aesthetic.
