Bo Notini floor lamp
Rare floor lamp designed by Bo Notini, produced in Sweden by Glössner & Co during the 1940s. The design exemplifies Scandinavian mid-century aesthetics with refined materials and restrained decorative detailing.
The lamp features a slender upright shaft in solid brass with a circular weighted base. The brass surface displays a warm natural patina developed over time, with small signs of age-appropriate wear that enhance the lamp’s vintage character. The uplighter shade is composed of a finely etched clear glass bell, decorated with a rhythmic diamond-pattern cut. Inside is a cylindrical inner shade in opaline glass, which diffuses the light evenly and creates a soft ambient glow.
The materials—etched glass, opaline diffuser, and brass—are finely balanced, both visually and functionally. The geometric etching on the outer glass not only decorates but interacts with light to cast subtle patterns on surrounding surfaces.
