Ceiling lamp
This is a Swedish modern ceiling lamp produced in Sweden during the 1950s. The structure is crafted entirely from patinated brass, showcasing a warm golden tone with areas of darkened surface wear and oxidation consistent with age. The design features six elegantly curved arms that emerge from a fluted central column, each arm terminating in a cup-shaped socket holder with pressed floral motifs and supporting newly made white conical fabric lampshades. The overall form exhibits symmetry, with the arms radiating in a circular arrangement from a central axis, as visible in the underside view.
The condition of the piece is good and structurally sound, with clear signs of age in the brass finish including scratches, minor dents, and oxidation which contribute to its authentic patina. The lamp has been rewired or fitted with new shades, but the brass body and core design elements remain original.
While the designer of this specific model is not identified, the lamp reflects stylistic qualities of Swedish Grace transitioning into modernism, marked by refined ornamentation, neoclassical echoes in the fluted forms, and restrained yet sculptural brasswork.
The lamp measures 66 cm in diameter and 75 cm in height, which corresponds to approximately 25.98 inches in diameter and 29.53 inches in height.
