Erik Buck bar stools
This rare set of three bar stools, model OD-61, was designed by Danish furniture designer Erik Buck and produced by Oddense Møbelfabrik in Denmark in 1964. The stools represent Buck’s signature approach to organic modernism, where sculptural forms and ergonomic comfort meet precise craftsmanship.
Each stool features a solid rosewood frame with a rich, deep grain and a warm patina that enhances its natural character. The elegantly curved legs are connected by gently arched stretchers, providing both structural stability and visual rhythm. The saddle-shaped seats are newly reupholstered in natural vegetable-tanned leather, offering a refined contrast to the dark tone of the rosewood. The subtle curvature of the seat and the slight tilt of the back edge demonstrate Buck’s understanding of human proportions and comfort.
Erik Buck was active during the height of Danish modern design and collaborated with several of Denmark’s most respected furniture manufacturers. His designs are celebrated for their balance between simplicity, craftsmanship, and functionality—qualities that have made his furniture enduringly collectible.
This set remains in excellent vintage condition with only minor traces of use consistent with age.
