Information

This is a rare set of four bar stools, model OD-61, designed by Erik Buck in 1964 and produced by Oddense Møbelfabrik in Denmark. Each stool is crafted from solid rosewood, displaying a beautifully figured grain pattern that gives depth and warmth to the sculptural frame. The seat is upholstered in red leather, which provides a striking contrast to the dark wood and adds a vibrant mid-century character.

The design is elegant and functional, with gently tapering legs that connect through curved stretchers, creating a sturdy yet visually light construction. The saddle-shaped seat is slightly raised at the back, offering additional support and comfort while maintaining a minimalist profile. The integrated footrest is carefully shaped, making the stools practical for extended seating.

Condition is good vintage, with minor signs of wear and a subtle patina consistent with age. The rosewood frames have been well preserved, and the leather shows natural aging that enhances the authenticity of the set.

Erik Buck (1923–1982) was a Danish designer celebrated for his refined, ergonomic furniture, often combining organic curves with functional simplicity. The OD-61 bar stool is among his most iconic works and is considered a benchmark of Scandinavian mid-century bar seating design.

Dimensions are 36 cm wide, 34 cm deep, and 84 cm high, with a seat height of 76 cm (approximately 14.2 x 13.4 x 33.1 inches, SH: 29.9 inches).
