Information

This rare ceramic vase, model “Topas” was designed by Ewald Dahlskog and produced by Bobergs Fajansfabrik AB in Sweden during the 1940s. The vase is a notable example of Scandinavian modern ceramics, highlighting organic form, textured surfaces, and skilled craftsmanship.

The design features a wide, rounded body that gently tapers into a slightly cylindrical neck. The exterior is adorned with vertical ridges extending from base to neck, creating a rhythmic and structured texture that remains natural and organic in feel. The surface is glazed with a speckled finish combining off-white and earthy brown tones, which accentuate the relief pattern and lend a tactile quality to the piece. The interior is left unglazed, revealing the raw ceramic material beneath. The base bears the Bobergs hallmark alongside the stamped model name “Topas” confirming its provenance.
