Hans-Agne Jakobsson ceiling lamp
This ceiling lamp, model T-549/3, was designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and produced by Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB in Markaryd, Sweden during the 1960s. The lamp is constructed from brass and fabric, featuring a dome-shaped shade made of pleated fabric stretched over a metal frame. This design maintains the shade’s structured form while softly diffusing light to create a warm and atmospheric glow.
The brass suspension rod extends downward, connecting centrally to the shade with a brass fixture. The bottom of the lamp is finished with a brass finial, adding a refined and polished detail to the overall design.
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a renowned Swedish lighting designer, known for his mastery of indirect and diffused illumination. His company played a significant role in Scandinavian modernism, producing innovative and highly collectible lighting designs.
The lamp measures 45 cm in diameter (17.7 inches) and is in well-preserved condition, showing natural patina on the brass components and some visible aging on the fabric shade.
