Information

This rare dining table is model AT-318, designed by Hans J. Wegner and produced by Andreas Tuck in Denmark during the 1960s. The tabletop is crafted from richly figured rosewood, displaying a striking grain pattern with alternating dark and warm brown tones that are typical of high-quality Brazilian rosewood used during the mid-century period. The table has been fully restored, preserving its original character while allowing the wood’s natural depth and luster to be fully appreciated.

The table features a rectangular top supported by a chromed steel frame with four cylindrical legs and distinctive angular brackets that secure the tabletop. This combination of warm wood and polished metal gives the piece a refined, architectural appearance and reflects Wegner’s ability to merge natural materials with functional modernist forms. The construction is robust yet minimal, allowing the expressive grain of the rosewood to remain the visual focus.

Hans J. Wegner (1914–2007) is considered one of the foremost figures of Danish modern design, celebrated for his ability to balance craftsmanship, form, and function. The AT-318 table exemplifies his approach to furniture as an honest expression of materials, with a structural clarity that reflects Danish modern ideals. Andreas Tuck was a frequent collaborator of Wegner, producing some of his most iconic dining tables and desks.

The table measures 180 cm in width, 95 cm in depth, and 71 cm in height (approximately 70.9 x 37.4 x 28 inches). It is in good vintage condition with minor signs of use consistent with age, and the restoration ensures it is both visually striking and ready for practical use. This model is a classic example of Wegner’s work and a fine piece of Scandinavian mid-century furniture.
