Information

This rare ceiling lamp, model 6540, was designed by Harald Notini and produced by Arvid Böhlmarks Lampfabrik in Sweden during the 1930s. The lamp reflects the transition from Art Deco towards early modernist design in Scandinavian lighting, combining decorative elegance with clean, structured forms.

The structure is composed of a frame in warm, patinated brass, offering a subtle yet rich golden tone. The shade is made of Havana-colored glass, a muted amber hue that softly diffuses the light, creating a warm and atmospheric illumination. A distinctive detail is the insertion of a blue glass disc positioned along the brass stem, adding a striking contrast in color and material that enriches the visual composition.

The form is defined by geometric balance, with a broad, shallow bowl-shaped shade and vertical elements marked by fluted details and decorative flourishes. The bottom of the lamp is adorned with a brass sphere and a floral-like brass fitting, enhancing the piece’s ornamental qualities without compromising its structural clarity.

The ceiling lamp remains in good vintage condition with a consistent patina on the brass, minor signs of oxidation, and light surface marks on the glass, all consistent with its age and careful preservation.
