Information

Rare table lamp model 15520 designed by Harald Notini and produced by Arvid Böhlmarks Lampfabrik in Sweden during the 1940s. This refined table lamp exemplifies the elegant restraint and craftsmanship associated with Swedish modernism of the period. The design combines warm-toned elm with patinated brass, creating a harmonious contrast between organic materiality and sophisticated metalwork. The slender tapered wooden stem is framed by decorative brass fittings featuring Notini’s characteristic attention to proportion and detail, while the circular brass base provides a balanced and understated foundation.

Harald Notini was among the most influential lighting designers working in Sweden during the first half of the twentieth century. His long collaboration with Böhlmarks resulted in numerous highly regarded lighting models that bridged traditional craftsmanship and emerging Scandinavian modernist ideals. This lamp reflects that transition through its clean silhouette, restrained ornamentation, and careful material selection.

The lamp retains its original brass components, which have developed a natural patina over time, adding depth and character to the surface. The elm stem displays a warm honey-brown tone with attractive grain patterns that enhance the sculptural quality of the design. A newly fitted lampshade complements the proportions of the base while providing a soft and pleasant illumination.

Condition is good vintage condition with minor age-related wear and signs of use consistent with its age. The brass surfaces show patination, light marks, and small areas of wear, all contributing to the lamp’s authentic appearance. The lamp is fully functional and presents beautifully both illuminated and unlit.

41 cm diameter (16.1 in.) × 55 cm height (21.7 in.).
