Harald Notini table lamp
This is a rare table lamp, model 15520, designed by Harald Notini and produced by Arvid Böhlmarks Lampfabrik in Sweden during the 1940s. The lamp is a notable example of early Swedish modern lighting design, blending natural materials with refined metal detailing and functionalist construction.
The lamp features a slightly conical turned elmwood stem, showcasing a warm, straight grain in a natural finish. The wood transitions into a copper-toned brass socket collar with a zig-zag edging detail that connects to a circular brass base. The base is low-profile and broad for stability, with a lightly raised rim and four small brass feet. The brass exhibits visible patination and wear, typical of aged solid metal surfaces, with no structural damage or corrosion. The lamp is fitted with a newly produced conical lampshade in a white textile fabric, creating a soft ambient diffusion when lit.
Harald Notini (1900–1990) was a Swedish designer and interior architect known for his contributions to functionalist lighting and interiors throughout the early to mid-20th century. He collaborated closely with Böhlmarks Lampfabrik, a leading Stockholm-based lighting company that operated from the late 19th century through the mid-20th century. Böhlmarks was one of Sweden’s most respected lamp manufacturers, producing both public and residential lighting.
The dimensions are 41 cm in diameter and 55 cm in height, corresponding to approximately 16.1 inches wide and 21.7 inches tall. The lamp is in excellent vintage condition, with new shade, and only minor age-appropriate wear.
