Information

This rare serving trolley was designed by Henning Korch and produced by CFC Silkeborg in Denmark during the 1960s. It is an example of refined Danish mid-century furniture design, characterized by carefully balanced proportions, high-quality materials, and precise craftsmanship typical of Silkeborg production from this period.

The trolley is constructed entirely in rosewood, displaying a deep reddish-brown tone with pronounced, lively grain patterns throughout the frame and shelves. The form is rectilinear yet softened by rounded edges and subtly sculpted corner joints, which emphasize the organic qualities of the wood. It features three open shelves arranged vertically, providing functional storage while maintaining a light visual expression. The piece stands on four small metal castors, allowing for easy mobility.

The condition is good vintage, with minor signs of usage and patina consistent with age. These include light surface wear and subtle tonal variations in the rosewood, which contribute to the authenticity and character of the piece without affecting its structural integrity. The surfaces remain well preserved, and the construction is solid.

Henning Korch is known for designs that combine practical functionality with elegant detailing, often focusing on refined joinery and the expressive qualities of wood. CFC Silkeborg was a respected Danish manufacturer recognized for producing high-quality furniture in rosewood during the mid-20th century, and their pieces are valued for both material quality and craftsmanship.

This trolley reflects the Scandinavian mid-century approach to domestic furniture, where utility, mobility, and aesthetic restraint are combined in a coherent design language. It functions equally well as a serving trolley, side table, or mobile storage piece.

Dimensions are 74 cm wide, 47 cm deep, and 70.5 cm high, corresponding to approximately 29.1 inches wide, 18.5 inches deep, and 27.8 inches high.
