Henry Walter Klein reclining chair
Rare reclining lounge chair designed by Henry Walter Klein and produced by Bramin Møbler in Denmark during the 1960s. The chair features a solid mahogany frame with finely crafted angular supports and rich grain patterns typical of Danish mid-century craftsmanship. The seat and backrest are upholstered in original dark brown leather, showing a deep patina and subtle wear that adds character while preserving the quality of the material.
The design incorporates two adjustable reclining positions, allowing the sitter to alternate between an upright lounge and a fully reclined resting posture. The chair’s structure, with its intersecting frame geometry and low-slung profile, reflects Klein’s architectural approach to furniture design—balancing comfort, proportion, and sculptural clarity.
Henry Walter Klein, originally from Norway, trained under Finn Juhl before establishing his own career in Denmark. His collaboration with Bramin Møbler resulted in several refined and ergonomic designs that combine precision woodworking with timeless modernist aesthetics.
